After playing just three games following his return from surgery on his shooting elbow, New York Knicks forward OG Anunoby will miss more time after experiencing a flare-up, ESPN reported Monday night.
Anunoby, who underwent a procedure on Feb. 8 to remove a loose particle from his right elbow, won’t play until the issue dissipates, per the report. There’s currently no timetable for his return to the court.
Anunoby, 26, helped transform the Knicks after he was traded from the Toronto Raptors in late December. Since Jan. 1, when Anunoby plays, New York is 15-2. When he doesn’t, the Knicks are 8-10.
Known as a top-notch defender, Anunoby has averaged 14.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.1 blocks in 17 games (all starts) for the Knicks.
In his 412-game career with Toronto (2017-23) and New York, Anunoby has posted averages of 11.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 steals.
