Will Rogers Race 8 – Miranda Diane Stakes
For the second Monday in a row, we head to the Sooner State of Oklahoma, where we will look at the eighth race of their card, which is the Miranda Diane Stakes for fillies and mares three years old and up. The females will go six furlongs on the main track with a post time of approximately 5:24 pm Eastern time.
There was some rain in the area last night, but it’s possible that the track could be dry by post time. There is sun and wind in the forecast, which is two things that will speed up the drying process.
The 10 Dicey is the 5/2 morning line favorite here and she just missed in last year’s edition of this race. She is coming back after a four month layoff. She came back last September after a four month layoff and all of a sudden started running on the front end. She is a neck margin away from a four race winning streak and a perfect season at Remington. She will be tough here today.
The 8 Sinnin N Grinnin (5/1 ML) appears to be the only horse that could be on the lead with the favorite. There are other horses that have shown early speed, but those were in two turn races. Sinnin N Grinnin is a sprinter but I don’t think she can keep up with the 10.
The 1 Smart Okie (12/1 ML) draws the rail here and won two weeks ago at Will Rogers Downs. She will be near the lead but will probably need some room in the stretch.
The 2 Take Me Serious (3/1 ML) comes back after a 16-month layoff, and personally, I would be taking this horse more seriously if the layoff wasn’t as long as it is.
The 5 Catale Winemixer (20/1 ML) may be a longshot, but I wouldn’t completely toss her out. She closed at a huge price and the jock has five less pounds to carry today.
Finally, the 6 Swingin’ Okie (12/1 ML) was only a length behind the winner, and a neck behind the 5. She will be closer to the pace than the 5, but I don’t see her winning here.
If Dicey gets to the front like I think she will, look out. Remember that Uncle Ernir race when he got to the front last Monday and won easily? I see that here. I’m calling this 10-5-2-1, and my play is $20 to win on the 10. Good luck everyone!
