Happy Thursday everyone and let’s head down to Keeneland for the Thursday QPW. They are starting to wind down their April meet, and today, their featured race is an allowance race for three-year-old fillies going a mile and three-sixteenths on the turf course here. Post time for this race is for approximately 4:44 pm Eastern time.
Favored in today’s race is the 9 Style Points (2/1 morning line) and shown that she has had a nice closing kick in back-to-back grade 3 races at Gulfstream and most recently at Tampa Bay Downs. She gets the class relief here going back to allowance company but has to go another furlong here today.
The 5 Royal Wintour (4/1 ML) broke her maiden last time out at Gulfstream Park essentially going gate to wire last time out. She showed some versatility in her short career as she closed well in her debut. If she goes for the lead, it is a possibility that she could be alone on the lead. The jockey Jorge Ruiz will have options here in this race.
Keep an eye on the 11 Tarneema (8/1 ML) in this race. Her sire Kitten’s Joy is a superior turf sire if you are into breeding lines. On top of that, those horses love longer races, which will help Tarneema today. He won last time out at the Fair Grouds impressively and is coming back after a 10-week break.
The 1 Sassy Princess (12/1 ML) broke her maiden going nine furlongs here. She will he riding the rail here and hoping for the shortest trip around the turf course today. She will be forwardly placed, and if she is good enough, she will have a chance to steal this at nice odds.
I am going to take a chance at beating the favorite here today, and I am going to take the filly who I think has the best kick for home. That in my opinion is the 11 Tarneema. Let’s call this 11-5-9-1. My play is $20 win on the 11. Good luck everyone!
