Four Player Prop Bets for the September 4th MLB Slate

St. Louis Cardinals at Milwaukee Brewers

Sonny Gray (12-9) vs. Colin Rea (12-4)

Willy Adames Over 0.5 Hits

Willy Adames and the Milwaukee Brewers come into their series finale with the Cardinals looking to win the three game set. In 39 at bats against Colin Rea, the Cardinals have a .205 batting average. If Rea can put together a quality start, the offense will need to provide him run support. Adames is the pick for today as his numbers in 12 at bats against Sonny Gray have been good. In those 12 at bats, Adames has a .417 batting average with five hits, two being a double and a home run. The Milwaukee shortstop has been on an absolute tear lately, hitting five home runs, one double, and four other hits for an 1.119 OPS the last seven days.

New York Yankees at Texas Rangers

Marcus Stroman (10-6) vs. Nathan Eovaldi (10-7)

Anthony Rizzo Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

The Yankees are coming off of a brutal loss and now sit half a game back of the division lead. They need to bounce back and as a team, hit Nathan Eovaldi well and should look to not even make this one close. Rizzo is still coming off of an injury, but has put up solid production since returning with a few hits and a pair of extra base hits.

His stats especially against Eovaldi are great, and the left handed pitcher on right handed hitter matchup makes it another pick for today. In 25 at bats against Eovaldi, Rizzo has a .360 batting average with nine hits and six RBI.

Los Angeles Dodgers at Los Angeles Angels

Bobby Miller (2-3) vs. Griffin Canning (4-12)

Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 Home Runs

Against a 4-12 Griffin Canning, Ohtani could not ask for a more favorable matchup to hit a home run. With 99 career home runs in Angel Stadium, Ohtani looks to add number 100 to that milestone and season home run number 45 on top of that. With 46 stolen bases, this would put Ohtani in the “45/45” club, and just a handful of home runs away from that elusive 50/50 number.

Seattle Mariners at Oakland Athletics

George Kirby (10-10) vs. J.P. Sears (11-9)

Zack Gelof Over 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

This matchup on paper should be one that’s more lopsided towards the Mariners with a solid starter in George Kirby on the mound. However, the opposite is the case with Athletics starter JP Sears having solid numbers against the Mariners, and Kirby not as much. Athletics hitters have a .340 batting average against Kirby with a .977 OPS.

One player in particular who sees Kirby well is second baseman Zack Gelof. In five at bats against Kirby, Gelof has a .600 batting average with three hits. Two of those hits were extra base hits, one being a home run. He’s been quiet this series but should look to turn that around today.
