Owls Soar Past Fort Lauderdale in Exhibition Blowout to Open 2024-25 Season

Before tipping-off the 2024-25 regular season, Florida Atlantic hosted Fort Lauderdale (0-2) for the first time in the now 41 years of FAU women’s basketball history. FAU, with only five returners, had many questions, but most of the questions were answered during the evening with the Owls gaining the victory over the Eagles in dominant fashion.

Memphis Rallies in Second Half to Defeat FAU 2-1, Snapping Owls’ Winning Streak

Florida Atlantic touched down in the land of the delta blues to face conference leading Memphis (7-6-2, 4-1-1). The Tigers came into the match with a two match losing streak while the Owls had a three match winning streak. A strong second half by Memphis led to an Owls loss in a pivotal conference match to end the streaks altogether.

Owls Clash in Philly: FAU Tops Temple 3-0, Eyes Postseason Berth

FAU traveled to Philadelphia to face off against Temple (2-15, 0-8 AAC) in a match of Owls. Even though it was Philly in October the weather was almost as nice as Paradise as Florida Atlantic dominated Temple in an important road victory.

Delayed Victory: Diarra’s Hat Trick Propels FAU Past Stetson, Zettl Sets Assists Record

It took 54 days, but Florida Atlantic has finally finished their match against Stetson (4-5-4, 3-0-1 ASUN). The match, scheduled for August 29, was delayed in the 52nd minute due to weather. Both teams found an opening to finish the match on Oct. 22. The Owls earned the victory against the Hatters to extend their win streak to four before two important AAC contests to close out the season.

Another Rainy Day: FAU Falls Short in 1-0 loss to Memphis Amid Rainy Conditions

With only four matches left the Owls needed to gain points to stay in contention for the AAC tournament. A tough task to do against Memphis, but FAU needs the points to enter into postseason play. Sadly, a rainy day in Paradise set the mood for the Owls as Florida Atlantic was overrun offensively by Memphis (7-6-2, 4-1-1 AAC) falling 1-0.
