Haas is adding France’s Esteban Ocon to its Formula One team for 2025 and beyond.
The American team announced Thursday that Ocon signed a multi-year deal, joining 19-year-old rookie Oliver Bearman to make up the driver lineup next season.
Ocon currently drives for Alpine.
“I am thrilled to embark on this new chapter in my F1 career and join an ambitious racing team whose spirit, work ethic, and undeniable upward trajectory has really impressed me,” Ocon posted to social media.
Ocon, 27, won the Hungarian Grand Prix in 2021 and becomes the first Formula One race winner to join Haas. He worked with team principal Ayao Komatsu during a test with Lotus as a junior in 2014.
“It was vital we had a driver with experience in beside Oliver Bearman next year, but Esteban’s only 27 — he’s still young with a lot to prove as well,” Komatsu said. “I think we have a hungry, dynamic driver pairing and I look forward to welcoming Esteban into Haas for 2025.”
Current Haas team members Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen are exiting at the end of the 2024 season. Hulkenberg will drive for Sauber next year; Magnussen hasn’t announced his plans.
