FAU tops Tulsa 20-17 to win American Athletic Conference debut

The FAU Owls won their inaugural AAC matchup against the Tulsa Golden Hurricanes on Saturday night 20-17.

FAU Owls Fall to Illinois 23-17

FAU started quickly and jumped out to a 10-0 lead after the first quarter. The Owls stopped Illinois on downs on their opening drive and recovered a Luke Altmyer  fumble on the next Illinois possession when the QB was sacked by Xavier Peters, Jayden Williams recovered the football at the Illinois 28-yard line.

The FAU football team fell to Ohio in a close 17-10 matchup, the Owls’ first loss of the season.

A week ago, we were singing the praises of Tom Herman’s squad after an impressive debut against Monmouth. We all felt that this was the start of the turnaround for a team that was lackluster at best last season. In fact, it was safe to say that the attitude around campus had changed.

Promise, Power, Poise: FAU Starts 2023 with Win

Last season, the FAU Owls did not start well. They started with a one-point OT loss to Western Kentucky, and the season did not end well either. They finished 5-7 (4-4 C-USA) and cut ties with Willie Taggart. Tom Herman was inserted as the new coach and hit the ground running with the addition of new, old quarterback Casey Thompson.
