FAU looked to start off the new month of March with a win. They opened up their three game series with Stonehill Friday night, in hopes to bounce back from their last couple games and get some wins back. The Owls turned to right hander C.J. Williams who would look to earn his second win of the season.
AU welcomes in Stonehill after two disappointing results earlier this week. The Owls have dropped back to back games against in-state opponents UCF and UNF. The Owls look to shake off those losses and bounce back and earn a series win against Stonehill.
FAU comes in losing 2 of their last 3, while Tulane is on a 5-game skid. Tulane has the potential to right their ship in this one, as a win could do mountains momentum wise, while a loss for FAU would raise serious concerns about the team’s ability to gain an at-large bid.
The FAU Owls welcomed in North Florida Wednesday night, following a tough loss to Big-12 opponent UCF. The Owls looked to bounce back from the 11-6 loss, and get back in the win column before their series set with Stonehill this weekend.
The FAU Owls took on in-state opponent UCF Tuesday night, as the 5-0 Golden Knights looked to win their sixth straight game and keep their undefeated record. The Owls too would be looking to keep their three game win streak going, but UCF had different plans for the Owls.
Following their sweep over Towson last weekend, the Florida Atlantic Owls welcome in the UCF Golden Knights for a single game matchup. The Golden Knights have been red hot to open up the season with a perfect 5-0 record, featuring a win at Miami. The Owls however, are also hot, taking four out of their last five games for a 4-2 record.
Sunday afternoon’s matchup between FAU and Memphis was a thriller that saw both sides exchanging leads and playing hard nosed basketball. In the end, however, it was the Memphis Tigers who defended their home court and used big moments in the second half to power through FAU, 78-74.
Following a series against Vanderbilt that gave FAU plenty of positive takeaways, the Owls welcomed in the Towson Tigers hoping to start off the homestand with a series win. The Owls bats caught fire in the series, outsourcing Towson 29-3, letting up only one run a game. The Owls played sound defense and had great pitching every game to help lead the Owls to a series sweep, improving their record to 4-2.
FAU is coming off a solid victory over SMU, one in which the team was able to get off to a hot start, battle physically, and play a full 40 minutes. Vlad Goldin put up 21, his 3rd 20-point performance in 4 games, and Alijah Martin put up 20, building on a consistent streak of performances for him.
