Bye week blues are upon us for a lot of the teams in the AAC during week 6, but week 5 brought storylines that will keep us busy through the bye week and beyond.
The second full week of AAC play has arrived. For the Owls it was inviting the Memphis Tigers (7-8) (1-2) to town. Memphis was a gracious guest as they fell to the Owls in sweeping fashion, 3-0.
FAU looked to turn a corner on Saturday as the Owls defeated FCS Wagner in dominating fashion 41-10. FAU battled past some early struggles to dominate the Seahawks in the second half, shutting them out 24-0 and executing on all facets.

The Temple Owls migrated to South Florida to face Florida Atlantic for FAU’s second conference match of the season. In the face-off of the Owls it was a 1-1 final as neither team could find a second goal.
In a cloudy downtown Birmingham, Alabama, the Blazers and the Owls met in a match that could set the tone for the final month of the season. Even with a staunch attack by FAU, the Blazers found a way to get past the Owls 1-0.
It was Family Weekend in Boca Raton and FAU put on a show in front of the Owls faithful.
Florida Atlantic hosted East Carolina (8-3) (1-0) for their first conference match of the season Friday night. The Owls had a dominant first set, but the Pirates had a tight grip on the match as ECU won 3-1 in the AAC conference opener.
