Let’s stay at Gulfstream today for their eighth race for an optional claiming $62,500 going five furlongs on the turf. Eight horses are entered in the race, and the rail will be out 32 feet from where the rail would normally be.
But we will dabble in today’s featured race, the sixth race at Gulfstream, as if yesterday never happened. We won’t go big knowing there’s a few extra Franklins and Hamiltons in my pocket. That’s what I strive to do when I have a good day at the track or the casino
Let’s head down to Tampa today’s edition of Quills Picks winners as we will take a look at their finale, the ninth race on their card. This is a one mile race on the turf for four year olds and up. There are 14 horses entered for the race, but only 10 will run.
Sometimes, there’s no place like home. For me, that would be racing at my nearest race track Parx Racing, as today we will look at the sixth race on the card which is a race for horses four years old and up going a mile and a sixteenth. Nine horses are entered for this race which can be claimed for a price of $10,000.

Let’s begin the 2024 edition of Quills Picks winners down to Oaklawn Park in Arkansas for the Smarty Jones Stakes. This race is part of Arkansas’ road to the Kentucky Derby, as there will be points given to the top five finishers in this race.
It’s the final day of 2023, and it’s fitting that the final race I look at for 2023 is the Year’s End Stakes at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Seven juvenile fillies run a mile here. Weather will be fine here, so look for a fast track here.
Once again, I am choosing to mix things up for my readers here as I will look at not one, not two, but three races today. Let’s head back to Santa Anita on this Friday for the Eddie Logan Stakes for two-year-olds going one mile on the turf course. Note that the rail is scheduled to be out 30 feet for this race. Post time for this race is approximately 6 pm Eastern time, so there’s plenty of time to look over this race.
