Following a 41 win season capped off with a Regular Season AAC championship, the Owls are one of the top teams in all of college softball. The energy brought by Head Coach Jordan Clark and her staff is infectious, as her team has clearly bought into the culture of winning.
The Buzz was palpable Sunday afternoon at Joan Joyce field, as the Owls took the field with a chance to clinch their first AAC regular season title and first regular season title overall since 2018. Doing what they do best, backed behind a mindset of never giving up, the Owls put up 4 runs in the 6th inning after lulling the Tulsa bats to sleep all day
Tonight was the truest testament to the grit of FAU Softball. After going down 3-0 in the first four innings, it looked like a rough night for the Lady Owls. During the first few innings, FAU battled that deficit, while only recording a single hit (Kamryn Jackson single in the bottom third).
FAU opened up their series at home against UAB Friday night, hoping to get back in the win column following a midweek loss against Florida in which the Owls came up short 10-8. UAB came into game one at the bottom of the AAC standings, and looked to put together a win with Blayze Berry on the mound.
FAU entered the game three rubber match against Tulane looking to take their first series since their three game set against Memphis. The Owls bats got off to a good start early, and backed up the Owls pitching staff through the first half of the game. A late rally from Tulane however, would allow the Green Wave to overtake the Owls lead and take the series finale for the series win.
After losing three straight games on their last road trip, FAU was finally back home to play some conference baseball. The Tulane Green Wave came into Boca Raton looking to improve upon their 5-7 AAC conference record. C.J. Williams and the Owls would have other plans for Tulane, and after a historic start from Williams, the Owls would’ve only needed one run to win the game, and turned it into five for a shutout series opening win.
FAU started their weekend set against East Carolina Friday night, a series that could only be described as the Owls biggest test at home all season. The #12 ranked team in the country came into the series with a 21-6 record, with a 4-2 conference record.
FAU entered the rubber match against Memphis, attempting to obtain their second consecutive AAC series win to open up their conference schedule. The previous night the Owls launched seven home runs, tying the program single game record, to even up the series at one game a piece.
FAU entered game two of their conference series at Memphis looking to get their bats back on track and tie the series. The Owls bats would come alive early, and Memphis would never be able to catch up. Led by the long ball, the Owls took game two over the Tigers 13-5, to even up the series.
