Quills Picks Winners – Sunday 3/31 – Gulfstream Park Race 6

By Joe Quillen

We head to South Florida for Easter Sunday for the Sunday Quills Picks Winners as we take a look at the sixth race on the card as they close out their Championship Meet. Note that if you are a pick-6 player, especially the Rainbow Pick 6 that they have which is usually is a jackpot wager, today you could be in luck with a massive payout. I’m not going to dabble on this bet today, but I always try to keep an eye out for when a mandatory distribution of the pool is announced.

The pick 6, and the race that I am looking at here begins with a turf race for older horses going a mile and a sixteenth. Post time for this race is for approximately 3:41 pm Eastern time.

The favorite is the 4 Far Bridge (7/5 ML) who returns from an almost seven-month break. He’s a turf pro who has won a Grace 1 race last summer at Belmont. He goes back to the Christophe Clement barn from Todd Pletcher, which isn’t a big deal to me. They might be looking for him to get a race in and ship him to New York after this. But he is ready for this race and will be closing here.

The 3 Lucky Score (3/1 ML) scratched out of a race yesterday to run here and should enjoy the extra ground compared to his last few races before his break.

The 8 Nova Sol (10/1 ML) has run well in his last two on the turf at Gulfstream and goes back up in class here. He should be stalking behind the leaders here.

The 1 Dreams of Tomorrow (9/2 ML) draws the rail for this race after a two-month break. The synthetic race wasn’t that bad, and he will enjoy going back to the turf.

I think this is Far Bridge’s race to lose, and he will be closing strongly to win this. I’l call this 4-3-8-1, and my play is $20 to win on the 4. Good luck everyone!
