Quills Picks Winners – Tuesday 2/20 – Parx Race 6

Tuesday 2/20/24 – Parx Race 6

The holiday is over and it’s time to get back into the regular routine that we seem to have here at Quills Picks Winners. We had to our home office in Bensalem, PA for today’s sixth race, which is a race for older fillies and mares going seven furlongs on the main track. The approximate post time for today’s race is 2:20 pm eastern time.

The morning line favorite is the 2 Shell Belle (6/5 ML) who lacked a rally in a full field of 12 last time out on the slop at Parx about 3 weeks ago. There should be no reason why this filly should be more than the three path while having the two post for today’s race. She did win at this distance in October in a non-winners of two races lifetime going this same distance, so she does have that going for her. She does give a good effort each time out, and I think you can ignore that last race three weeks ago.

The 5 Forest Maiden (5/1) won three back in December and now drops to $7500 claimers after two unsuccessful tries at the $12,500 non-winners of three. She does have an excuse of a very wide trip last time out, and loses the blinkers with an opportunity to get on the board here.

The 10 Joy’s Pride (12/1 ML) comes back from a three-month layoff here and should have some targets to run after if she is good enough here. The 3 So Softly (4/1 ML) and the 8 Riverview (8/1 ML) look like they are the speed horses here. Shell Belle has shown speed as well. Don’t be surprised if she steals this race at a pride.

But my selection is the 1 Moonlite in Heaven (8/1 ML). She shortens up to seven furlongs after three two turn races after arriving from California. She won’t get the lead, but she should be stalking when the speed drops back. I’ll call this race 1-10-2-5 and my play is $20 to win on the 1.

Good luck everyone, and I’ll check in tomorrow with another Quills Picks Winners.
