Wednesday 3/13/24 Tampa Bay Downs Race 6
It’s Wednesday, so that means we head to Tampa Bay Downs for today’s edition of Quills Picks Winners, which is a $20,000 claimer for older female horses going a mile and 40 yards on the main track. The seven fillies and mares will head to the gate at approximately 2:55 pm Eastern time.
Favored in this race is the 1 Music Amore (2/1 morning line) returned about six weeks ago from a five month layoff and showed some speed and faded going seven furlongs. She will go two turns here which is what she prefers, but I think she is beatable here.
The 3 Waterworks (3/1 ML) ran well on the slop lass time out going against cheaper claimers. She looks like she could be on the lead, or a length or two behind the leaders.
The 4 Chem Major (7/2 ML) finished fourth last time out while racing wide on the final turn. She’s shown speed the last few times out and could contribute to the pace on the front end.
The 6 Our Fantasy (6/1 ML) does have a closing kick, especially in two turn races like today. She will have targets to pass in the stretch, I think that she will by flying down the lane to give her the win today.
I’m calling this race 6-3-1-4 and my play is $20 to win on the 6. Good luck everyone!
