The St. Louis Cardinals’ home game against the Atlanta Braves scheduled for Tuesday night was scratched due to inclement weather in the area.
Instead, the Braves and Cardinals will complete their three-game series with a split doubleheader on Wednesday. The first game will begin at 12:45 p.m. local time, with the nightcap set for 6:15.
The decision means that the Braves are now slated to play three road games in less than a 30-hour span. After playing two against the Cardinals on Wednesday, they will travel to Chicago for a one-off contest against the White Sox — a game that was postponed from April 3.
The Braves announced that right-hander Reynaldo Lopez (5-2, 1.57 ERA) would start Game 1 on Wednesday and right-hander Bryce Elder (1-2, 6.46) would start Game 2. Left-hander Chris Sale (10-2, 2.91) will start their Thursday game at the White Sox.
The Cardinals’ pitching plans were not yet known.
