Five Straight Bets for the September 6th MLB Slate

Colorado Rockies at Milwaukee Brewers

Ryan Feltner (1-10) vs. Frankie Montas (6-9)

Over 7.5 Runs Scored

The Rockies do not have a good track record this season with Ryan Feltner on the mound. The right hander is 1-10 on the season with a 5.11 ERA. The Brewers lineup should get to Feltner and the over 7.5 run total seems like a good pick. The over is 6-0 in Feltner’s last six starts after allowing two runs or less in their previous game as well as being 4-0-1 in Feltners last five starts as a road underdog of +151 to +200. The Brewers offense as a whole hasn’t been the best the last seven days, but this series against Colorado should help them get back on track offensively.

Washington Nationals at Pittsburgh Pirates

DJ Herz (2-7) vs. Luis Ortiz (6-4)

Pirates Moneyline

Luis Ortiz since the second week of August has looked great for Pittsburgh. Going up against a struggling 2-7 DJ Herz, the pick for this game is Pirates on the moneyline. The Pirates have been good against the National East recently, going 4-1 in their last five games with the division. More importantly the Pirates are also 7-0 in their last seven games as a home favorite of -110 to -150. The Nationals on the other hand are not great against the National League Central, going 0-4 in their last four games in the division.

Tampa Bay Rays at Baltimore Orioles

Shane Baz (2-2) vs. Dean Kremer (6-9)

Over 8.5 Runs Scored

The over today for the Rays and Orioles game has multiple trends that point to it being the play. The over is 5-0 in Kremer’s last five starts as a favorite of -110 to -150. On the Rays side, the over is 5-0 in Baz’s last five starts when their opponent allows five runs or more in their previous game. As an underdog, the over is 3-0-2 in the Rays last five games, and at home for the Orioles, the over is 4-0 in their last four games. While 8.5 is a tricky line sometimes, both teams should be able to clear the total with the pitching matchup today.

Toronto Blue Jays at Atlanta Braves

Kevin Gausman (12-10) vs. Max Fried (8-8)

Under 7.5 Runs Scored

Similar to the Orioles and Rays game, there are many trends here today that make the under in this game the play rather than the over. The under is 11-0-1 in the Braves last 12 games as a home favorite of -151 to -200. The under is 6-0 in Fried’s last six home starts against a team with a losing record as well. Against a left handed starter, the under is 5-0 in the Blue Jays last five interleague games. Again, in a similar boat to the Orioles and Rays game the line here could be tricky, but the trends make the under here the pick.

Cincinnati Reds at New York Mets

Fernando Cruz (3-8) vs. Sean Manaea (11-5)

Mets -1.5

The Mets are the hottest team in baseball right now, winning seven straight games, and now sit poised to make the postseason. They look to keep the win streak going tonight against Cincinnati. Sean Manaea takes the mound for the Mets tonight, and has been one of the better pitchers in baseball as of late. He’s gone 7.0 innings pitched in three of his last four starts, and Reds opponents have pretty bad numbers against him. In 30 at bats against Manaea, Reds hitters have a .200 batting average and .633 OPS. The spread gives some value here for what seems like the best team in baseball right now.
