*Arizona is a springtime destination
*Cubs, Giants, Dodgers, D-Backs are big draws
*Many Cactus League stadiums offer RV parking
*Plenty of other fan accommodations

For enthusiasts of sports, the arrival of spring marks a season filled with anticipation. The air is scented with the classic aromas of hot dogs and popcorn, signaling a shift to warmer, sunnier days as players of the Cactus League, along with their supporters, converge on the Phoenix metropolitan area for their annual spring matchups. The convenience of having all 10 Cactus League stadiums within the Phoenix area means fans can enjoy games at each stadium without the need to change accommodations.

With that being said, let me give you a brief overview of the stadium parking prices, some of the savings offered, and the teams that grace them.

Cactus League Offers Savings On RV Parking For Spring Training Fans
Cactus League

Salt River Fields at Talking Stick:

A cutting-edge facility in Scottsdale, is the spring battleground for both the Arizona Diamondbacks & Colorado Rockies. SRF is one of the gems of the Cactus League. With that being said, expect to pay a little extra for all accommodations. Parking here is priced at $5 for cars and $15 for buses and RVs, and the entertainment is even more expensive.

Camelback Ranch:

Drawing inspiration from the surrounding Sonoran Desert and located in Glendale, the CRG plays host to the Chicago White Sox & Los Angeles Dodgers. Paid parking is available, but the stadium boasts ample free parking, so spectators can save money right off the bat.

Tempe Diablo Stadium:

Perched between the Twin Buttes in Tempe, offers breathtaking views and is the home field for the Los Angeles Angels during spring training. Parking fees are $5 for vehicles and $25 for RVs. One of the classic Cactus League venues, this stadium is still a reasonably priced fan favorite.

Cactus League

Sloan Park:

Affectionately dubbed Wrigleyville West, this Cactus League blue diamond is located in Mesa and serves as the spring training ground for the Chicago Cubs. Fans can park their vehicles for $5 in general lots, $10 in reserved spots, and $14 for buses and RVs, with lots opening four hours prior to game time. Now, be prepared to spend money while you’re here. The normally sold out stadium allows the ballpark to jack-up its prices. It’s a spectacle.

Maryvale Baseball Park:

Located on the westside of the valley & home to the Milwaukee Brewers, parking here costs just $5 per vehicle. The stadium received a $56 million renovation in 2018. Expect to see plenty of cheeseheads, and don’t be afraid to ask for cheese on whatever dish you sample!

Peoria Sports Complex:

Peoria is the shared home of the San Diego Padres & Seattle Mariners, and offers some of the most affordable ticket & parking rates—$5 for cars and $10 for RVs and oversized vehicles. This is one of the more financially accommodating Cactus League venues for distant travelers with RVs.

Goodyear Ballpark:

Located in Goodyear, this stadium is the venue for both the Cleveland Indians & Cincinnati Reds. Vehicle parking starts at $5 & RV parking at $10, while the stadium features a complimentary “Kids Zone.” The Cactus League has always done a good job of providing family entertainment.

Hohokam Stadium:

The former Mesa home of the Chicago Cubs is now the home to the Oakland (Las Vegas) Athletics. The stadium has seen significant upgrades, including a canopy for shade over most 200-level seats. Parking fees are set at $5 for vehicles & $10 for RVs/oversized vehicles.

Scottsdale Stadium:

A favorite among Cactus League fans & Spring Training enthusiasts alike, this stadium is right in the thick of things, located in Old Town Scottsdale. The ballpark plays host to the San Francisco Giants. Although nearby paid parking structures are available at rates of $10-$20, securing a spot might be challenging. Instead, try the free trolley service to the stadium which the city offers at no cost (as long as you can present a valid Spring Training ticket for that day).

Surprise Stadium:

Located in Surprise, this stadium is the “double-wide trailer”  for the Kansas City Royals & Texas Rangers. With complimentary parking available, Surprise Stadium offers one of the best pocketbook savings of any Cactus League ballpark; guests are permitted to bring food in clear plastic bags (provided it fits under a standard stadium seat). That can save the family an average of $30 easily, seeing as a ballpark dog goes upwards of $6 (and that’s without chips).
