The 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament is set and with that comes the Regional matchups. Oklahoma will host their fourth Regional in program history, and welcome in tough opponents of the likes of Duke, UConn, and Oral Roberts. Here’s a brief overview of each team along with a prediction for who will advance to the Super Regionals. #1 Oklahoma Sooners
Oklahoma is 37-19 this season with a record of 23-7 in Big 12 conference play. The Sooners hold an 18-10 home record which compared to the rest of the field, is not nearly as dominant. With a Regional that has tough opponents from top to bottom, Oklahoma will need to improve upon this home record if they want a chance to advance to the Supers.

#2 Duke Blue Devils
Duke travels into Norman fresh off of an ACC Tournament title. The Blue Devils recorded an overall record this season of 39-18 with a 16-14 record in the ACC. They’re currently on a four game winning streak, and are red hot coming into the Norman Regional. They’ll look to keep the win streak going against UConn in their first matchup of the Regional.

#3 Connecticut Huskies
UConn comes into the Regional with a 33-23 overall record and a 17-4 Big East record. The Huskies didn’t make a very impressive run in the Big East tournament, and they’ll need to turn it around against a red hot Duke team if they want any hope of advancing to the Supers. While they haven’t been playing the most amazing baseball recently, there’s no time like the present to get back to winning.

#4 Oral Roberts Golden Eagles
Oral Roberts is coming off of a very successful 2023 that hasn’t seen similar results on paper. The Golden Eagles are 27-30-1 heading into this Regional but are on a three game win streak after winning the Summit League Championship. This is a team that’s familiar with the Regional and they appear to be getting hot at the right time. They beat Oklahoma in their last matchup this season, making this matchup extremely interesting.

Predicted Winner: #2 Duke Blue Devils
Duke’s getting hot at the right time, and they match up very well with the teams in the Regional. A battle tested ACC team all season long should have the best shot of any team to advance to the Supers.
