Golden Knights 6 – Maple Leafs 2
Neither team scored in first period
Both teams didn’t score a goal in the first period and both teams had nine shots on goal in the first period during that period. The Golden Knights stayed out of the penalty box the whole time during the first period. The Maple Leafs got into trouble in the first period towards the end of the period with a tripping call on Bobby McMann who tripped up Nicolas Hague during the 18 minutes and 12 seconds mark.
Golden Knights scored three goals in second period to Maple Leafs 1
The Vegas Golden Knights started early with the first goal of the game during the nine minutes and eleven seconds mark in the second period scoring the goal was Ivan Barbashev who recorded his 14th goal of the season and was assisted by Michael Amadio who picked up his 12th assist of the season and also getting an assist was Shea Theodore who grabbed his 20th assist of the season.
Four minutes and nine seconds later the Vegas Golden Knights scored another goal during the period this time the goal was scored by one of their rookie players Mason Morelli who recorded his second goal of his rookie season. The goal was assisted by Shea Theodore who grabbed his second assist of the game and his 21st assist of the season and first time assisted player Sheldon Rempal who got his first assist of the season. The time of the goal was 12 minutes and 20 seconds.
Maple Leafs first goal of the period
The Maple Leafs got on the board towards the end of the period almost around the 18 minute mark of the second period. The goal was scored by Tyler Bertuzzi who recorded his eleventh goal of the season he was assisted by Jake McCabe who picked up his 15th assist of the season. Also grabbing an assist is William Nylander who is getting his 48th assist of the season. The time of the goal was 17 minutes and 45 seconds.
Golden Knights late goal to be up three one
The Golden Knights scored one more goal towards the end of the period in the 19th minute and nine seconds and was scored by William Karlsson who picked up his 20th goal of the season and was assisted by Jonathan Marchessault who picked up his 19th assist of the season.
Vegas tacked three more goals to put the game out of reach
The Vegas Golden Knights started the third period with a goal towards the eleventh minute and was scored by Jonathan Marchessault who recorded his 31st goal of the season and was assisted by William Karlsson who recorded his 21st assist of the season. The time of the goal was ten minutes and 50 seconds.
Former Golden Knights player scored off his old team
One of the Maple Leafs goals was scored by a former Golden Knights player by the name of Ryan Reaves who picked up his third goal of the season and was assisted by Pontus Holmberg who recorded his sixth assist of the season. The time of the goal was 14 minutes and 35 seconds.
Empty Net goal and late goal seals the deal
The Vegas Golden Knights got a late goal, one of them was an empty net goal that was scored by Jonathan Marchessault who recorded his second goal of the game and his 32nd goal of the season and he was assisted by Alex Pietrangelo who picked up his 25th assist of the season. The time of the goal was 18 minutes and 23 seconds.
Immediately after that empty net goal the Maple Leafs decided to put their goalie back on the ice to prevent any more empty net goals in the game. That goal that was empty net was not the only goal towards the end of the period the Golden Knights scored another goal to seal the deal on the Maple Leafs by scoring another goal and this time it was scored by Nicolas Roy who recorded his eleventh goal of the season and was assisted by Shea Theodore who made it his third assist of the game and his 22nd assist of the season. Also grabbing the assist was Brayden McNabb who picked up his 16th assist of the season. The time of the goal was 19 minutes and 29 seconds.
